Where can I see if I am eligible for the Safe Workplace program?

As a registered employer who reports payroll to the WSCC, you can check your eligibility status in WSCC Connect.

To access your Safe Workplace status information:

  • Your business must have an account for online services in WSCC Connect.

  • The Access Administrator to your business’ online services WSCC Connect account must assign the access role for Safe Workplace.
  • When you have your log in email address and password and are on the WSCC Connect home page, you can get to your status information by either:

    moving your mouse or cursor over OHS E-Services and click on Safe Workplace Program,


    or click on the Safe Workplace icon on the WSCC Connect home page.

When you are on the Safe Workplace Program page, click on Safe Workplace Dashboard. Select your registered employer name from the list.

On the Safe Workplace Dashboard, you can:

  1. Check your eligibility:
    • If you meet the criteria for the Safe Workplace program, your eligibility status will be ELIGIBLE.
    • If you do not meet the criteria for the Safe Workplace program, your eligibility status will be NOT ELIGIBLE.
  1. Check your status:
    • Your status will show you are a Safe Workplace if
      • You meet all of the eligibility criteria (including a complete OHS program – self-reported in the OHS questionnaire).
    • Your status will show you are an Advanced Safe Workplace if
      • You meet all of the eligibility criteria, and,
      • the OHS program you have is approved through an accredited third party
        (For example: COR or ISO 45001 programs, which are accredited in the NT and NU through the Northern Safety Association(NSA)).
  1. Download your Safe Workplace certificate:
    If you are a Safe Workplace, you can download your Safe Workplace or Advanced Safe Workplace certificate to display at your worksite so that workers, clients and customers and the general public can see you are committed to safety.
  1. Download your Safe Workplace electronic badge:
    If you are eligible for the Safe Workplace program, you can download your Safe Workplace or Advanced Safe Workplace electronic badge to display on your business website, your email signature, or any other applicable digital use.
  1. Update Consent to Publish:
    If you are eligible for the Safe Workplace program and would like your business name to be appear  in the Safe Workplace Employer Search list for the public and other businesses to see, update your consent to Yes.
  1. When the expand arrow boxes on the dashboard menu are all dark blue, you have met all the criteria. If the box area is red, you have not met that specific criterion.


 Each menu item expands to show:

  • Your current status concerning that criterion.
  • Information on how to update the status, or work with WSCC to understand what to do to fulfill the criterion and become eligible for the program.
  • If the Employer is ‘Eligible’ for the criterion, the expand arrow will be blue - .
    Once clicked, the criteria section will expand, displaying your eligibility status. 
  • If the Employer is ‘Not Eligible’ for the criterion, the expand arrow will be red - .

 
For example, to update your OHS Program Details

  1. Click here to update your OHS question responses.
  2. Make the necessary changes that indicate if you have (yes) or do not have (no) parts of an OHS Program and save your changes.
  3. The Safe Workplace system will re-evaluate your eligibility. (Changes in status can take up to 24 hours to see in your OHS Program Status.)
